Victorian Lampshades
Elegance Lamps creates one-of-a-kind Victorian lampshades using historic textiles, hand-sewn construction, and period-inspired forms. Each lampshade is made individually in the Elegance Lamps studio in Seattle, Washington, and reflects traditional Victorian silhouettes interpreted through rare antique and vintage materials.
The lampshades shown on this page span more than a decade of work and reflect the range of forms, materials, and decorative approaches used in the studio.
Handmade Victorian Lampshades
Victorian lampshades by Elegance Lamps are constructed using traditional sewing methods and historic shade forms, including bell, dome, and multi-panel silhouettes. Materials may include antique silk, period lace, embroidered textiles, hand-dyed fringe, and custom beadwork selected to complement each individual design.
Each lampshade is created as a single finished work. Designs are informed by Victorian decorative traditions while remaining responsive to the materials available at the time of making.
One-of-a-Kind Designs
All Victorian lampshades shown here are one-of-a-kind works. Many are made using materials that are no longer manufactured, making exact replication impossible. Some lampshades are offered on their own, while others are paired with carefully restored antique lamp bases to form complete lamp and shade combinations.
New work becomes available periodically and is offered as finished pieces rather than produced in series.
