The antique lamp base after rewiring but before painting. The lampshade wireframe is wrapped to prevent rust stains on the finished lampshade.
Layering
A layer of ombre silk for base color, attached with small stitches for durability and a smooth finish.
Details

I make these wonderful creations for the purpose of adding art to the world, and making it a more beautiful place. This type of art is a “slow art”, meaning that the artist takes time and care in the creation process to ensue that every detail is perfect and that historic textiles are preserved with great care and respect.
