The Jewel of India shade is handcrafted using an excellently preserved antique Indian silk sari, stunning glass bead work, and is paired with an early-century antique cast metal base.
The twelve-panel shade alternates between lightly and heavily embroidered and jeweled design in a gentle fade from gold to garnet. This gorgeous material has a delicate jacquard pattern highlighted with golden threads, scrolling embroidery, sequins. and beads. Beneath the sari fabric is a layer of hand-dyed silk charmeuse, intensifying the rich colors of the antique fabric. The Jewel of India shade is hand-sewn and fully lined.
The hand-strung bead-work includes sparkling Czech crystals, bronze metal beads, and incredible garnet-colored rare vintage drops. The bead-work on this lamp harmonizes in gold, orange, red and garnet, with shapes and textures that compliment the jeweled shade and the base. The clip-top shade is trimmed with two styles of antique bronze metal trim from Europe.
The cast metal lamp base is a unique early-century style, and has been painted by hand . Fully rewired by a certified electrician, the base is outfitted with a brand new antique bronze colored socket and cord. Pull chain switching.
