White silk, antique metallic lace, beaded silk chiffon, and glittering gold adorn this gorgeous milk glass lamp, aptly named “Wedding Day”. This lamp is as formal and classy as a springtime bride.
The alternating four large panels feature fabric from a 1920’s beaded silk flapper dress with a gorgeous embroidered chevron pattern. The smaller panels feature an antique metallic white and gold lace in a delicate scrolling floral pattern. The entire shade is finished with a delightful metal trim that is “new old stock” vintage material, and is very difficult to find.
The cast metal lamp base, a lovely gem from the 1930’s, has three tiers of milk glass; one hobnail orb, a star-shaped centerpiece, and a bottom base with an amazing raised rose motif. The lamp has been fully rewired by a certified electrician using new UL listed parts. The base has been hand-painted to harmonize with the beautiful green glass pearls, and has whispers of white accent.
The beads on Wedding Day are outstanding. Over 2,343 pieces adorn this small shade and include: Czech glass pearls (green and creme), opalescent Czech bi-cone crystals, gold-plated metal beads, and stunning tapered drop crystals with an iridescent finish.
The “Wedding Day” lamp is gently neutral yet brilliantly classy, and is designed to give you choices—it is switched at the cord, and also has a push-thru switch at the socket.
