The “Shinto” lampshade is covered in gorgeous antique Japanese embroidered silk charmeuse, in a soft peach hue, and is overlaid with a stunning prewar French silk hex netting, then elegantly trimmed with antique bronze and black metal lace from Amsterdam. The pictorial scene depicts aquatic birds, bamboo and cascading flowers in vibrant color, invoking peaceful nature. The shade is fully lined in peach silk charmeuse.
This handmade shade is a quiet, earth tone pastel by day and provides a warm peach glow by night. The lamp base is a mid-century brass “candlestick” style lamp with a full harp, medium base, and turn-knob switching at the neck. The lamp base has been hand-painted in brushed bronze, with rich sienna, brown and green accents to match the metal trim and shade.
The beads used on this shade include bronze metal beads, Czech faceted crystals, Indian pressed glass, and gorgeous cloisonné drops in floral motif. Four strands of beads drop from the saucer at the lamp neck, and are evenly draped from the points and counterpoints of the shade, adding interest to the elegant peach fringe.
This unique, fully-lined lamp provides rich, warm lighting and subtle Asian geometry your life.
A standard incandescent bulb is included.
